Grenadine Syrup

Grenadine is French for pomegranate.  And behind nearly any bar, grocery or liquor store you can easily find Rose’s bright red grenadine syrup on the shelf.  It is mostly corn syrup with artificial flavorings.  It is easy to recreate this with something like POM brand pomegranate instead which has a lot more flavor, boldness and dimension.

  • 1/2 cup or 4 ounces pomegranate juice
  • 1/2 cup or 4 ounces white sugar
  • Heat over low until the sugar is fully dissolved
