Honi Honi

Honi Honi

Honi Honi translated means “Kiss Kiss”.  This is an adaptation from a Trader Vic recipe circa 1972.  While the original calls for 2 ounces of bourbon, the taste can be overpowering, so I used only 1.5 ounces this time around and substituted Cointreau in place of triple sec.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1.5 ounces bourbon
  • 3/4 ounces lime juice
  • 1/2 ounce Contreau
  • 1/2 ounce orgeat
  • 1/4 ounce simple syrup

Add all ingredients into a mixing tin with crushed ice and use a spindle to blend. Shaking with plenty of ice and pouring into a Wahine tiki mug is the other option. Garnish with umbrella and speared cocktail cherry.
