It will be hard for you to find a better cocktail than this that is so simple, so flavorful and so perfect. It is a combination of bitter, sweet, and crisp with a clean bite.  Even if you hate this cocktail, just ordering one makes you look sophisticated. You might think ordering a Martini would make you look sophisticated, but that is so cliché. A Negroni isn’t. In fact, should anyone ever question your choice, simply tell them it was a choice favorite of Salvador Dali, Orson Wells, Anthony Bourdain, and Michael Ruhlman. If they don’t know who any of those people are, just smile, take a sip, and walk away.

This is simple because its one part each of Campari, gin, and sweet vermouth.  Start slow, have one at a time, because they are addictive and you will want more than one, so don’t start with a double.

  • 1 ounce Campari
  • 1 ounces gin
  • 1 ounce sweet vermouth
  • orange rind garnish

Stir all ingredients over ice in a rocks glass, garnish with orange rind twist.
