Steak Pizzaiola

I like pizza, I like steak, but I am not sure I want them in the same plate, as the name of this dish would suggest. But it is really more of a “beef cacciatore”.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 medium Red Bell Pepper
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 cup button mushrooms
  • 1 can plum tomatoes
  • salt and pepper
  • garlic
  • olive oil
  • oregano
  • white wine
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • pinch or 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Salt the steaks well (boneless sirloin works best), sear on both sides, set aside.  Add veggies and cook until soften. Add wine, broth, oregano and tomatoes. Slice the steaks into 1″ pieces and return to the pan and cook until done.  Serve with baby potatoes or bread.
